What are flopy drives called.

I have a weird question. What type of drive is a 3.5" floppy? For example a CD/ DVD drive is a type of optical drive. What’s a 3.5"? I just need to know for my signature. As you can see I have OD, HD, GPU, CPU, exc listed. Right now it just says "FD: 3.5" Floppy" and FD stands for Floppy Drive. But I am not sure that that is the correct terminology. Could it be called a magnetic drive?

You're doing alright. A floppy drive is still a 3 1/2" ide type drive with a different type of drive controller. A floppy, eide hard drive, sata drive are all magnetic drives in one sense or another. The floppy simply contains the magnetic disk inside but is removable media while a hard drive has magnetic disks known as platters inside.
