what are good temperatures?

Ok, well i got it up to 100% load today and it got up to 60*C and i put some new thermal compound on, not sure what kind though what ever my dad got from the local pc shop.
 
Well i'm wondering if the heat sensor for the cpu is broken so if i stick another heat senson on the heatsink will i get the same temp that the cpu is? or not
 
When you first apply any compound your temps will get "HOT"! for the first so many hours you run the system and then "shut it down"! You want to run it long enough to heat up the compound and then shut it down for several hours to allow the compound time to start bonding between cpu and hsf while it cools off. You are not going to see temps drop way down just after applying a new layer.
