What are some good laptops for a chemical engineering student?

This is my second year in the engineering program at school, I had a Toshiba but it sucked. I am willing to pay up to $1200 for a dependable laptop that will last me well until after Grad school! PLEASE HELP

Find yourself a nice Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook, or Apple Macbook Pro.
