What are the advantages of NTFS

i dont see it, whats the point of the NTFS.

what the hell are the advantages of it??

and i have installed my hardware of both a fAT32 and a NTFS patition and i dont see the difference

nope, also it allows you to have files bigger than 4gb in size, FAT32 wont support anything above that.

mainy its to do with bill gates, my whole family was into computing and well, bill gates is a nob, that probabbly the way i was brought up, but mr gates is always trying to find new ways of tracking and making us spend more money,

and not only do i not notice the difference but i personally thing ntfs sucks because its new, and the old stuff is always better, a personal opinion

It runs on NTFS as WinFS isnt gonna be released for a year or two, i dont know if it can run on FAT32 but im sure it can read and write it after all almost ALL MP3 PLAYERS are formated as such(Inculding ipods, and most thumbdrives), memory cards.

cause after putting xp on an old pc the file system was ntfs, cpu usage 100%,

reformatted the hdd and put xp on a fat32, cpu usage 0%

You act like you have to pay for NTSF.

no i act as if i dont like the new stuff microsoft are bringing out

i dont see whats your problem with NTSF is....

and personally i dont see what your problem is with pressing the matter, i dont think the ntfs file system is very stable on a pc like mine, which it isn't as ive reformatted my pc more times when an ntfs file system is on my hdd then a fat32

Amazing how NTFS was made first. AND FAT 32 was also made by microsoft.

Actually, there's stuff that I could never do with FAT 32.

I think that FAT 32 has limitations on partition size too, not just file size.

It can actually support more than 4GB.

And NTFS is actually quite old. If you wanted to have encrytion on your files, or be able to compress folders, you need NTFS.
