What cable should I buy?

I understand that DVI is my best bet to hook up a video card and monitor. I also understand that dual-link is the way to go. I have 28 inch monitors with 1920x1200. So should I buy a DVI-I or DVI-D and is there a difference in the brand? Is there something I should be looking for such as speed which is in the link below? Advertising is so misleading so I want to make sure I get the right cables. I'm getting a 7850 video card which is leading me to this post because these cards have 3 different connections to them.

Here is another cable that they are selling for just 10% which I'm having a problem with, so would there be a difference in the 2 cables?

To answer the question, i find little to no difference at 1080p between DVI and VGA. DVI-d and DVI-i will depend on what your GPU supports. They both do the same thing, and will fit one way but not the other. DVI-d will go into a DVI-i slot, but DVI-i will not fit a DVI-d slot. The difference is that DVI-I has an analog signal alongside the digital, where DVI-d is digital only.

As for the brand, that does not generally matter as much. My DVI cables are Rosewill brand 10 ft ones. Look for gold plated ones if possible (this makes the signal cleaner).

cables a cable as long as you arent pulling your computer by it or something...i think i have the second one myself, works fine except for some strain ive put on it and have intermittent connections due to it...but thats just the nature of copper.
