What can I do to cool my pump and system down!!!

Heya guys,

I have biiiig temperature problems at the moment.
I am using a watercooled setup, idle temp is around normal (30) but when I get to load it can get up to 49c, even when my room temp is 23c!

The problem is that my case is made of thin aluminium (Aspire Explorer) and once the system has been on for around 10mins the case will just heat up and stay at that temp.

Has risen to 45c inside my sysem before, which can't be good for anything, especially my ram, (seing as the ramsinks are even too hot to touch)

I do particually like this case and haven't had it that long so I don't really want to buy a new one.

My pump is made by Hydor or something like that and I got it with a Alphacool watercooling kit.

The thing gets so hot sometimes and is internally mounted in my case, the whole thing looks hideous when its external.

I was wondering if there was anyway That I could cool my pump down, are there any sort of bays to do it?, or could I somehow mount it around some fans.

The only other thing I can thing of really is a Full size case and sectioning a bit off, I have a bit of money but I do really want to spend them on new speakers, not on a new case that will probably end up to big to sit on my desk!

Any help is greaty apprieciated!

Here is my setup.

Back of system

Fan, case back, rad, fan...all blowing out of the case.

There is a blowhole at the top of my case that is for an 80mm fan, but I had to remove this fan as My new PSU is too big to have the fan there.

I also have a 120mm pulling air into the front of the case, in front of this fan is my pump, which is sitting on top of my hard drive.

Right now I my CPU is 36c and case is 37.2c.

I have a standard Alphacool CPU block with AS5 on the bottem of it and have it lapped.

Was wondering if it would also be a good idea to get a better cpu block?

Suppose I could give that a try, thanks:)

I did set it up the other way round because I thought, If I have the rad the closest to the cpu the water would be at its coolest as it goes throuh the block.

Also, if the hot water goes to the rad and gets cooled down then goes through the cpu block theres hot water going through the pump.

If it was the other way round the cold water would be going through the warm pump, which would warm the water up and not cool the cpu as much as it would if it was set the other way round.:confused:
 
i had an aspire case they all seem to be the same exept for the look of the outside.i find them to be too small for my taste and only mediocre air flow. swapped my system into the themaltake i have now and temps dropped dramatically.
 
Yeah I know what you mean by small, there practically the same size as a Lanboy.

I did have a Jeantech apollo which only ever got to like 28c.

Think I might try get a big aly case. dont like the steel, they weigh a ton, even with no watercooling inside!
 
This case is seriously bad for cooling, my system is idling and is 12c warmer than the ambient temperature of the room!

My rooms 23.2c an my case is 35.5c!

I have been looking at my Jeantech Apollo, Im not transfering my system over to that cos I think the case is hideous, also weighs almost 26KG's with everything in it.

But I have just noticed, the steel on it is 0.9MM thick, when you touch it it feels like metal and is cold, Now when I had my old system in the case it never even warmed the metal up.
Think it was about 25c average and max of 28c (This was in the winter)

My room can sometimes get to around 35c so the max my case should get to is around 40c
Thus making the CPU around 42c max hopefully.

Not 49c when my room is 23c!

God knows what im going to do when my rooms above 30, my system will liternally be around 56c!

And we all know that that is WAY to hot.

However many fans I put in this thing I just cant get it cool.

I think I could try swapping the front 120mm out with 2 80mm, but that is again going to increas the noise:mad:

Ahhhh I have no idea what to do!!!!!

I suppose I will just have to hope that my room doesn't go above 30c for the rest of the summer!

37c is the temp of my hard drive aswell!

If it gets much hotter in there I think its gonna bugger up:(

What Aspire did you have?W
What were your temps and what did they drop to:)?
 
i had an x-cruiser, my cpu dropped a couple degrees only, i think that it dropped because my internal temps were reduced. my mobo dropped about 10c and my gpus about the same. my temps now,
cpu idle 29 load 40 tops at 1.57 v 10% overclock
mobo 32-37
gpu 1 at 42 1dle 54 aprox. load
gpu 2 at 38 idle 50 load.
hdd's dunno, but they are cool to the touch
