i just got an ew CPU, motherboar and ram. tried to put it ini my case and it dont fit, well, it fits inside, but on the back of the motherboard where the mouse input, printer, graphics usb etc is in a difference arrangement to my case. now, the case i have is one i have been using for 2 - 3 years but i didnt things would of changed tht much. does any one know what case will fit my new motherboard.

motherboard is ASAS K8V - X SE

ive tried doing internet searchs but no look.

was about to buy any new case from ebay aswel and i saw a picture on the back of it and i saw by that that my mainboard will not fit in there, will i need to get a special case.

i was thinking of ripping all the metal on the back of if nothing else works.

Tom, Thanks.

LOL ive done that :)

look for a full ATX system case ! that will make most of the mobo`s out there.

my mainboard didnt come with any metal plates. the problem is the motherboards external connections (like mouse/keyboard/graphics/usb/printers inputs are in a different arrange to the case's. obviously this is because the mtoherboard is brandnew and the case is 3 years old. can any bdy suggest a case to get. i dont want to buy a new case and have it not fit the mainboard.

also, my motherboard needs 2 power supplys. one is the biggish normal connection then there is a little 4pin socket which requires a power input. my case doesnt have this now, so i really could do with suggestions about what case to get. i dont wanna spend no more than 35 quid on one.

its gonna be hard to find a case to match your motherboard. the motherboard should of come with the plate to put in any case. what motherboard is it you have?

yea... depending on what case you have, i guess, you should be able to pull the plate out of the back of that case. you can use the one that should of come with the mobo, but if its lacking one, you can use none.

basically i pulled the metal plate on the back of my case and the motherboard fit in, but my case doesnt have a 4 socket power supply to go into the motherboard, because it says in the manual it needs 2. one is the normal 20 pin (i tihnk) which goes into the motherboard. then there is another one near the CPU but my old case doesnt have a connection to go into this. infact, this is the problem now, finding a case that has 2 power connectors to go into the mainboard. should i ask the guy a bought it off. think i will.

The motherboard is ASUS K8V - X SE

i bought the mobo, cpu and ram seperate to the case, basically, it was just meant to be an upgrade. im using same ol sound card, graphics, isdn card speakers etc. my motherboard is ****ed so i needed a new one, all the capacitors on it were more or less about to blow.

by the way, once i get the new mobo cpu and ram running, i was wondering how can i overcooked my old motherboard and processor so it explodes. i really hate it and cant wait to cause it some long deserved pain for the amount of pain it cause's me everyday. i dont wanna just smash it with an axe, but cause it pain and really cook it so hopefully it explodes. cheers.

That mobo is a ATX, 12" * 9.6" (30.5cm * 24.5cm) one so any standard case should be sufficient

the motherboard should of come with a metal plate which will fit ontot he back of the case and is designed for your board
Ive not looked into that specific board but there are some K8 boards which dont come with them (rare though IIRC) ... unless you mean something else

You only need 1 PSU, but you'll need one with a ATX12 (thats the 4pin connector) sometimes these are marketed as "P4 Compatible PSUs"

by the way, if the case i get doesnt have one, can you reccomend one, even if its price is fairly high i just want a dam case its making me cry

just make sure it says P4 compatible or P4 ready or something to that effect. Most cases today are both AMD and P4 ready.
