Ok so i shutdown my computer and when i woke up the next day it wouldnt turn on. it would just flash on for a quick second. So i took it to my girlfriends dad and he took everything out and it still wouldnt power on the motherboard wasnt dead because a green light was on. So he tried new power supplies and stuff and cleaning it, until he took out the computers processor and put it back in and it now turns on and is working fine. I asked him what cause of this problem and he said he wasnt sure so now im asking you guys see if u know? So Please explain Thank you.

It could have just been a large build up of dust or something that needed to be removed. Maybe that removing everything did the trick to clear it out and get it working again.

not really. dust can cause alot of problems inside your computer. and maybe everything just had to be reseated again and there could have been a loose wire someplace or loose card that was put back into place that fixed the problem.

oh alright thanks for the info.

oh wait i think it was the neon lights in the front that caused this problem because my gf's dad unplugged them and when i got it back working and i plugged them back in the computer later on turned off and wouldnt turn back on. So i unplugged the lights and boom it started up again?

Just a guess, but this may mean that the lights are drawing too much power for your Power Supply; which probably would only happen if the Power Supply was bad or if the lights have a short somewhere.

yes exactly what are the amps on the 12 v rail on your powersupply and how many watts is it. you may need a new powersupply.
