what DDR2 800 to get?

Not sure what ram to get, i want 1GB DDR2 800 (2x512mb) dual channel, for around $125. any ideas on what brand and model to get?

Anyone else find it funny that the 'value RAM' is the most expensive there? But yeah, that list is about all you can do for ~125 in the kits, the 2GB kits are out for sure. You could go with a 1GB stick and get a second later if you don't mind not having dual channel for a while.

Well what does dual channel do exactly, is it that much better then single channel?

Ok , i have one more question about ram, if i'm running 2 sticks of it in a board that can take 4 sticks, what slots should you put the ram into?

If you do indeed get the Gigabyte board you will notice I think red and yellow slots, to run dual channel you need to put the DIMM's in the same coloured slots.

They're color coded, put the memory in the same colored slots to enable dual-channel mode.
