we bought a new pc about 1month ago.All of a sudden the network stopped working.it says "limited connectivity".We tested our internet connection on another desktop and it worked fine...below is what the techs did in order.

1. tested with a pci-network card ----->still limited
2. Re-installed network components/services ----->still limited
3. Load optimzed/failsafe defaults ------>still limited
4. reset cmos battery ----->still limited
4. repaired windows ------>still limited
& Fianlly
a format of the PC.We all thought that after formatting the problem would be gone but it stayed..we just couldn't figure out WTF what doing this.....or is this a manufacture defect with the motherboard ?

any help ?

What I personally would do is read the fine print in your return privileges to see exactly how long you have to return something. Many places have only 7, 10, or 14 days in which to return a PC or PC-related product. If you've owned it longer than the time given, you're stuck with warranty service.

got it

Yo kusama thanks man.Actually there were 2 reset button on the modem.
one was for a normal reset and the other was,i think EMTA or some crap.We didn't really wanna press it at first because we though we might have to configure that modem again....thanks..much appreciated..

I think it was configured to send all data to the other pc ( the one that worked), thats why it said limited connectivity.. according to the resistance's of the cable it measured.. it knew its connected to something, but due to the lack of incomming data,. well,.. limited connectivity :)
