Hi got a new Packard Bell last week but have 3 stupid problems.

1) When I click on links in emails nothing happens. To get to where I want I have to copy and paste them into the search bar!

2) When I add a web page shortcut to my desk top and click on it I get another box coming up first asking me which program I want to use to open it and there's a huge choice. I always have to manually select IE. I also tick the small box which basically says 'always open using this program' and yet I am STILL always asked! Ahhhhh!

3) In the search bar when I type in something I typed only a few days ago I find it hasn't remembered it. My last pc remembered things for a lot longer! As far as I know I have the correct thing ticked that says 'autocomplete'. Any ideas? I am fed up with having to type things in full when I only did it a day ago!

Sorry for the multiple questions but I've tried my ISP and various people and no joy and it's only been a week and I might just throw the thing out of the window!

Many thanks to anyone who can help on all or any of these issues.

Howdy,

IE seems to to have a bit bust, check in 'Set Program Access And Defaults' on the start bar to see if IE is the default program to open links etc... It's also advisable to re-install IE if it'll let you as there may even be a bug in the program that's causing the issue, I had this issue a while ago on my old system and I used one of these two methods to fix it.

Thank you to you both. I knew it'd be something simple. Marx91, the tip on the link you sent me worked. It's sorted out all the probs i can't thank you enough as it was driving me crazy! I'd been onto my ISP, Packard Bell and even the PC performance people I am paying through the nose for to assist me and NONE of them could help! I knew it had to be something easy like that. THANKYOU!!!! xx
