Iv been buying things off of ebay and so far i got a nice case, and a motherboard.
In the retail box with all the manual and accessories.

Supports Intel Pentium 4/Pentium D/Celeron D Processors. Socket LGA775

k my quic probly stupid question is what is the socket is it the gold pins on the CPU, and there has to be 775 of them

The socket is where the cpu chip embedded into it's own casing often with a small rectangular viewing window on top sets down inplace into a usually black colored plastic square area with rows of small holes. The underside of the cpu housing has a predetermined amount of pins that are the actual means to connecting the micro sized circuitry to the main board by the contacts inside the small holes seen on the square shaped "cpu socket".

While the actual amount pins is not near the count of 775 the electronic pathways that use the same pins seen determine the socket type according to it's design. As the cpus become more involved the number of pin holes does have to be increased while still being in the same sized area for the cpu to set down into. When buying the processor for the board read the detail to make that it is the correct "type" cpu for your model board. It will have to be a Socket LGA775 model processor to work.

check www.newegg.com in the processors section. In the refine search section choose intel, and then socket 775 compatibility, it'll give you more than enough to choose from
