what do i need to make my laptop vista compatible??

i have an acer aspire 3003LCi
with a 40GB HDD
256MB DDR
and a Mobile AMD Sempron processor 3000+

but windows vista will not install to it. i called acer support and they said this laptop is not compatible with vista. what do i need to make this vista compatible?? i already plan to upgrade the HD and Ram. what do you guys reccommend??

First you need to install more RAM. You would not even be able to do anything if you got Vista to install on a computer with 256MB of RAM.

Upgrade to at least 512MB, preferably 1-2GB. Yours also most likely wont work with Aero because you need a DX9.0 video card.

As for the video card, theres really nothing you can do with the laptop.

You can still run Vista, however without a DX9 compatible video card you can't run all of Vista's 3D effects, such as Aero. But you can still run Vista.

It should.

The processor is fine for Vista, and the 40GB HD is low, but should be able to handle the OS and a few apps pretty easily.

No. Only a DDR laptop will accept DDR memory. DDR and DDR2 are not compatible.

Its a fair deal. It cannot be used at the same time with two computers.
