actually for the price it's pretty good, it's got a lifetime warranty and, unless I'm an idiot (which is possible) that's in CAD$, even if it's only $25 after rebates

I wouldnt think people buying this kinda RAM would be doing stuff with it to have to make use of the warranty ;)

Definitely. The concern at this point is not that it's PC2700 but rather that its a 256MB stick ... which will mean paging and reduced overall performance ... but [a] for that price its an aweseom deal and (b) budget constraints like you said :)

ok and if i try to oc, should i get a ram cooler?
anyway im gonna buy that and after a better graphic card and more rams when i get $$

At that range, brand doesnt mean all that much .. you might be able to get DDR400 for that price if you look around :)

Nah. I ran PC2700 for the longest time ... then i found that it could OC to PC3500/PC3700 ... but even as PC2700 its not athat bad.
