Hmm this is the basic info of my comp...take a look at it and i would like to know what improvements it needs...

mostly used for movies & internet

HP Media Center PC/Windows XP SP2
AMD Athlon 3700+ processor 2.20 GHz
1.0 GB of RAM
200GB 7200RPM Ultra DMA Hard Drive
LightScribe Double Layer 16x DVD+/-RW &CD witter drive
Front Panel 9 in 1 memory card reader
19" LCD Flat Panel Monitor

and some other stuff it has but cant seem to find their info :|

Do you have a good graphics card? If not, that should be at the top of your list of things to improve. Also a bigger monitor wouldn't hurt... :D

yes the monitor is not a bad idea, especially for movies you might want a widescreen monitor as well.

2 monitors would be better, if you're willing to spend that much money.

As for your graphics card, you dont need a top of the line GPU. This should do it.

Assuming you have PCI-E

EDIT:
And heres a great deal on a nice widescreen monitor.

THanks pretty helpful..as for the screen i think im fine with 19" LCD since i can easily connect it to a large 60" Tv and use it that way...

but for the graphix card part i was asking where on MY computer i can look up the information about it since right now i have no idea what i have.

whats the difference between yours and the athlon x2 4200?

3700+ is single core, X2 4200+ is dual core.

Anyways, @Nini, you can use programs like Everest and such, they tell you lots of stuff about yoru video cards. Or for the basics, just go to display property, settings, advanced, adapter, and it tells you there.
