What do you guys think about the NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI?

I am thinking of putting it into a system I am going to build now.

i never tried sli before..but it sounds like fun..... i run nvidia geforce 6800 256mb video cards in my desktop now...runs good...i don't understand how sli would be better..lol..
 
The 680i boards are great if you have the money. However if you want to overclock look at the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4/DQ6 as they support Crossfire (ATi's version of SLi) and all of the Gigabyte 965P series are great overclockers.
 
Yeah but that would mean changing my video card also, and I like my video card.

And I don't even know if I am going to Dual 8800 GTX yet, I just like the 680i and want to have Sli on the board so when I get around to it I can get the second 8800 GTX.

this is a very very good board, i have it at the moment and i think it was worth the extra over the other ASUS boards. i could be wrong but on my board i think the PCIe ports are futher away from each other. hence, better cooling. once again i could be wrong because i have not really payed to much attention to the ASUS boards, can someone correct me?

i have the evga version, i recently saw that XFX have also made on exactly the same if not better because its a little more recent.

i would only recommend the evga one as i have no experience or knowledge about the XFX one as of yet.

well in the not too distant future iam going to install a second XFX 8800GTX because the prices are dropping so rapidly its not funny.

thanks buddy,
took me a little while to save up for it lol. i think with the new parts that i ordered last week, the grand total comes to around AU$4000+. i will be looking into the new R600 by ATI when that comes out. sounds like that will be a good one lol...
