So I decided to put my web and graphic designs to use, and started a small business. Let me know what you guys think about the website. Im only focusing on html/css coded sites for small businesses or gaming organizations that want a nice looking site with some type of cms like webspell. Im only 18 so if any of you guys are business people, give me some ideas.

Heres my site:

I am in no way a professional or anything but it looks kind of bare for the front page. Considering your selling it as a "website and graphics" service you should have your work all over the site. Its like tattoo shops....they have all of their jobs in a book for you to look at it and their BEST work is on the windows/inside the shop to lure people in. People see it and come in because they think its impressive work and it increases the chance they will choose them. (other factors as well but we are visual creatures)

Gotta agree with Twist. It's not bad, but it's not terribly impressive, which is what you want it to be. Also, the page doesn't scale to the browser window. I don't know much about web design, but I'm pretty sure that having to scroll left to right is a no-no.

Basically, not a bad start but could maybe use a bit of work.

I agree with the comments, you should maybe consider providing your clients with custom designed CMS (of your choice). The fact is, you could be providing your clients with more functionality and less work on you end while being able to provide the same look as you would manually develop w/ basic html and css. Check out my site, ilovepetras.com, I offer customers fully CMS suite like that with PAID hosting and domain name for the same price as your basic package. Also using free hosting for a client's site is very bad practice, pay $20 for a reseller account and you can make some reoccuring income that way, just my 2 cents...

Well as a web designer here's my comments and suggestions, please don't take it seriously ok :D

Comments:

1. The text are readable but it makes the viewer dizzy due to the font size.
2. The site is plain, if your services are web design make an impact at first sight.
3. Don't focus on HTML only.
4. The samples are quite few.
5. The width of the page is too large.

Suggestions:

1. Change the font size and conduct a survey to your friends. And the text must be refreshing to the eyes of the viewer.
2. Add some flash effects that will make the viewer or the client shock at first sight.
3. PHP are difficult to hack or sabotage and it's more secure. Most of the clients today are looking for PHP format.
4. Add some more samples so that your client will have more option.
5. Make sure your site will be fit to the monitors client up to 10'.

I hope my advice will help you in the future :)
