Im looking to upgrade my memory for my P4 3.2E with an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe board. I have this in my system right now: CORSAIR XMS (2 x 512MB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model TWINX1024-3200XLPT 2-2-2-5. Iv had some problems configuring this memory but my recent settings seem to be holding for now.
What I am thinking of doing is buying 1G of the previously mentioned memory or picking up 4 gigs of this stuff: CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model Twinx2048-3200c2 2-3-3-6.
My questions are: Would 4 gigs be overkill for my system or should I stick with 2 gigs of the stuff I have now? Would I see more performance from faster memory times or higher ammounts of memory?
My system is for using Pro Tools digital audio recording software and the occasional WOW or BF2.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks!
