I really would appreciate your feedback. All of us that are a little intimidated by all the specs, are afraid to go buy something that we will regret.

Thats why we keep asking you guys for advice, hope you all don't mind.

Use would be just overall use, internet, business related downloads, pictures, music, maybe business presentations, and basic everyday use, etc.

Also, since you recommended Acer to the other poster: What do you think about this one, also at Circuit city.

First I need these two questions answered.......

1. What is your budget by the way?
2. What do you plan on doing with the computer?

It really depends on what you plan on doing with the laptop. Here is my honest opinion of it. This computer is not really powerful for much more than basic computer functions.

Processor : T5550 is a good low end processor, execelent for basic functions
RAM : 3GB of DDR II is excellent for a laptop
Hard drive : 5400 RPM is the speed at which the disk actually turns, could be better (7200 RPM). 250GB is a decent amount of storage for a laptop.
Wireless : Great card, can read A, G, & N networks....Anywhere you go that has wireless access you will pick it up
CD/DVD Disk drive : Excellent for a laptop
Screen : 14.1"......ouch, kinda small
Operating System : Vista Home Premium is great, the 3GB or RAM will run it smooth!
Audio/Video : Don't plan on playing any game. Will be great for movies, pictures, music and web surfing.
Card Reader : That's awesome for a laptop
Web Cam and Mic : That's awesome for a laptop

The software bundle that come with it is all garbage, I would dump everything and start from scratch....that's just me though. :)

Overall is will be a great computer for....Like I said before....basic computer functions. If you are buying it for (internet, pictures, music, watching movies, school work) it is a good buy.

Hi, I could go up some in my budget if needed but since it just an overall laptop, including doing some insurance business, for (internet, pictures, music, watching movies, school work) but, I meant to post this one. Sorry about posting the 14", this is the one I really wanted feedback on.

HP Pavilion dv6910us 15.4" Widescreen Entertainment Laptop

Thanks in advance.

The HP one is pretty good. 14.1" wide screen is the perfect balance between mobility and screen area. I believe the HP computers are built quiet well, at least for it's price. My cousin has one and the laptop feels fairly sturdy.
