What do you think of this?

Well i plan to o'c my cpu to at least a 3800+ (2.4Ghz)

And i was thinking about getting XMS, but i can only spend around $450-$480 including shipping.

try to look for the X800GTO from connect 3d. u can unlock all pipes and overclock it to X850 XT maybe PE levels.

XMS tends to have issues running at its base cas2 with NF4 boards, one chip with really good reviews is the PQI Turbo:

$110 shipped

it actually gets really good reviews and has no problems running at its stock cas2 timings, unfortunately with the XMS, a lot of people have issues running at cas2 on NF4 boards. Since you are getting a NF4 board I would definately stay away from the XMS, why take the chance?? You are also making a good decision on getting a single 1GB chip instead of 2 512 chips, right now 2 512's will run better in dual channel but I assume you are planning on getting another gig chip when you come across $100 to blow. If you "don't" plan on upgrading with another ram stick though, just get a 2x512 kit because it will be better than a single 1 gig with that MB. My roomate actually has that Chaintech board with his a64 3000+ and 2x512 dual channel Geil kit. I can't really comment on its overclocking, because he is just like me, he doesn't overclock. It is a stable board though, we put it together a few months ago and he plays BF2 daily and has yet to ever reboot his computer.. Definately more than I can say about my Biostar SLI board ;) I am happy with mine though, I run a 4 drive sata II raid 0 setup and I think that is where my issues are, sometimes it doesn't even register one of my drives until I reboot it like 5 times. that PQI is really good ram though, if you can spend the extra $, it is probably the best bang for back out there runnin cas2, and with heatspreader. base timings are 2-3-2-5 which isn't bad at all for the price, not sure on overclockability though, I just run at stock timings

*edit* first half of my post disappeared... it's added now

Thats SERprise, ya i was planning on getting another 1GB stick when i get some more money.

And im not quite sure about this, but are there such things as "PCI-E locks", like there are AGP and PCI locks? Because i want to overclock this a fair amount and dont want it to be messing up the video card.

Well i have my system (its running great too), and it has PCI-E locks, SATA locks, and PCI locks.

And Ku-Sama, can you beat 11355 in 3DMark03 when you downclock to a 3200+?
