If you want a budget card, that is the way to go. While supporting dx10 it is still a decent card. However, thats its major selling point, it probably won't make that much of an impression, its benchmarks are very weak. If you insist on a dx10 card and have a strict budget, not much else you can do.

8500GT is really a horrible video card..............

You should get at least 8600GT (if you want DX10 anyway)

you dont think that dx10 will have that much of an impact on preformance??

DX10 is supposed to improve performance...

i wasnt the one that said it dosent... i want dx10... what would out do a 8500GT for under $100??

Why is what better?
And also, the fact tah the card can support dx10 doesnt mean it can perform better. It just means taht it can play a wider variety of games (like consoles ina way). The thing is that dx10 games are not out yet, so really, RIGHT NOW, dx10 cards don't benefit anymore than a dx9 card. Also, since dx10 games arent out yet, its hard to say how well the dx10 cards will even perform on dx10 games WHEN they come out.

(although there are quite a few indie dx10 games out already. someone, somewhere has probably tested how well dx10 cards run using those applications, even though they aren't official retail games...)
