What do you think?

ya i could build my own. did u have a line up of gear around that price? im asking for advice mostly because i havent been looking in the market area for past 3 years so im behind on all the gear out now. so ya if yall have some set suggestions for a build for about 800 please let me kno as well.

Here's kind of an add on to joeswm8's build, it uses alot of the same part but upgrades a few of them.

CPU:E6550
Motherboad:P35 DS3L
GPU:8600GT
RAM:G. Skill 2GB 800MHz
HDD:WD Caviar 160GB
PSU:XClio GoodPower 500W
Optical:LITE-ON
Case:Cooler Master 330 Elite
OS:Vista Home Premium 64

Total comes to around $760, with the left over $40 you could upgrade to a e6750 processor, get a bigger harddrive, or change the case to a different one. That's totally up to you though.

I would tends to get the cheaper ADATA Ram, then pay little more for 8600GTS

thanks soo much guys this is helpin a ton. ok i have a question tho im not really to up to date with this processor u suggested. in my last comp i had an amd processor and i dont really wanna start the whole amd and intel argument lol, but does anyone have any exprience with this processor and one like it? btw this comp is used alot for games like, wow and all that other fun addicting stuff.

Edit: also, i dont have much knowledge about vista. is it really worth the 110 bucks or should i just install my home edition xp on it.

i have a 5600+ and i couldn't be happier that i went AMD... but intel's design makes it a better processor so you should probably stick with it... but that choice is up to you in the end.

ok i was just making sure that it was a mistake to go with duo. but again i dont kno much about vista and i heard u should have atleast 2gb of ram to run it. that seems kinda ridiculous espically if im trying to run some demanding games.

It depends on if you want to play game with DX10 later. If yes, you probably buy a vista OEM now because it would be expensive to buy the retail version later.

you definitely want to run vista with AT LEAST 2 gigs of ram... i would recommend going 3 or 4 (are you running 32 or 64 bit?)
