WHat do you use your PDA for?

What tasks, and actions do you use your PDA (pocket pc palmtop) for?

Do you find it very usefull and practical, or wish you saved your money and just bought a laptop?


reason im asking is im very tempted to get one, just because i like new toys, but i have a laptop and unsure if im ever going to use it for anything other than GPS navigation.
 
MY PDA is used in conjunction with my job. It contains all of the Doctors, nurses, consultants etc for my territory. Whenever I speak to any of them its recorded there with details of what was discussed so that I know each follow up call is progressive :)
 
at school, a lot of people use it to type lecture notes. seems really handy. i'm tempted as well haha... but then if other than that, i really don't have much use for it other than to surf the net, listen to music and watch movies, so i figured it wasn't worth my money. Back to hand writing my notes..
 
i would have thought that it would be difficult to write notes on a PDA in a lecture as it takes time to convert what you are writing in to it, to text. i find they also get it wrong and different words come out.
 
When I had my Axim X5, I used to have a keyboard as well(people liked that more than the PDA itseld :P) But as others mentioned, I'd type notes on mine. I also got a few books loaded on it to read for my classes.

Now, it's more of just a toy. I sometimes use it as an MP3 player, video player, to surf the internet(easier to carry than my laptop)
 
yea, thats what i meant haha... people in class have portable keyboards, they don't write it.
 
I find it sits there a collects dust and the battery dies, then one day you deside to charge it up and play with it for 5 minutes. Then it just sits there again. :rolleyes:
