What does DPI/ Hz adjustment do?

Hey guys,

Sorry this is my second post right after another but I have this question:

On my Razer Abyssus Mirror gaming mouse, it's got a switch on the bottom of the mouse where I can adjust the dpi as well as the frequency.

When I change it, it becomes unbearable as either it moves too fast or too slow.

What is the advantage in changing those? In what circumstances would you be changing those settings?

Those are changed often in gaming. For instance, one may prefer a middle ground sensitivity when playing an FPS game during normal circumstances, but if they want to get a sniper they may want a slower/faster DPI for more accurate or quicker movement.

So... it has nothing to do with the performance, just adjustnig the sensitivity of it?

In other words, higher dpi doesn't mean that it'll upgrade the performance? As in, my mouse would perform just as well, except the senstiivity is enhanced?

It's confusing, as DPI does refer to the resolution that the laser can detect, but in this case the different DPI settings refers to the sensitivity of the mouse, by increasing and decreasing it.
