1GB ram would help a lot like geoff said.

the video card is a bit weak too but as long as you aren't after the best graphics out there then you will be fine.

I found building my computer great fun and i feel it works alot better than alot of other pcs there are!

You can get something alittle and about the same price from hp.

Hp Pavilion 1230n

AMD athlon 64 3700+
512x2 1GB DDR RAM
ATI Radeon xpress200 256DDR Graphics
Real tek 97'AC audio
asus socket 939 motherboard PCIx4 PCIEx1
6 USB2.0 slots 2 firewire
HP lightscribe DVD/CD/RW
memorex 48x CD-ROM
Maxtor SATA 200GB 7200RPM 8mb c

actual would that be better, im not sure on the graphics card and overalll.

My personal opinion: Look into an X800GTO, a few bucks mroe but has better performance i think.

How much can you spend on a mobo? A DFI Ultra Infinity Is $95 at www.neweg.com and should be better than that asus.

If you can squeeze it, go for 1GB of RAM. You can start out with 512MB (i was with 512MB for years) and then upgrade later too. PC3200 should be fine, if you're not wawnting to overclock Kingston is fine too.

P.S. - I think I just bought the same harddrive you listed :D Came yesterday in the mail.
