what does this cable do?

I found this with my extra vg cables.

One end fits in my microphone and headphone jack and the other end is a video/mono audio split attachment, so it may be oldish.

I have no clue what it does. It looks to me like a TV Capture Card but without the card, but does this make sense?

plug the white and yellow to ur tv. and the 1/4" jack into ur digital camera or the camera's dock. that way u can see ur pics and vids on the big screen.
