So my computer just complelety freezes and then when i restart it this always pops up..

but after i turn off my computer for alittle while, it goes away but then like maybe an hour or 2 later it will freeze again and sometimes it does it right away..Then that just keeps coming up at start up and let wont let me go anywhere after that... When i put a disk in, it wont let me do anything with the disk, it just says press enter an then it says error or not enough disk space or something like that...
any idea of how to fix this or why it is doing this??

Thanks for the help...

The cpu could be overheating? The board is now seeing a fault in the bios. The main drive could be going on you. These are a few things to look over there. That specific message on the post screen is usually seen when the jumper on an ide boot drive is set wrong or a bad cable. Are you using an old flat ribbon type? Those dry out and can see problems as they get withered and brittle.

I dont think the cpu is over heating, there is a cooling system right over it..
What is a flat ribbon type look like? (im sorry i dont know to much about the hardware inside of a computer, im still learning)
Am i able to go out and buy new cables to replace the cables you are talking about?

Thanks

A typical low cost ide cable can be seen at http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...pNo=1645314&SRCCODE=WEBINKPLP&CMP=OTC-INKTOMI

You'll see that they have three connectors with one plugging into the system board directly. The opposite end and center are used for one or two hard drives or optical type drives like your cd or dvd rom or burner. With hard drives and now seen with new optical drives available there are also Serial ATA type drives that see a much thinner 7pin type cable rather the standard 80pin/80conductor type. A good selection for looking a larger variety of round ide cables as well as those for sata drives is seen at http://www.directron.com/cables---adapters-ide---floppy-cables---adapters.html

thanks.. i will go out and buy some new cables tomorow and see if that fixes the problem..

How did u get to know so much about computers just working and learning about them??

Im going to get my microsoft certifications, i start class at the end of this month and they said it will probably take me about 6 months to complete..Is this a good idea to get these certificates??

It will take a bit more then just courses to gain experience in this field. Actual hands on is something you learn while actually working on different systems. Taking some formal courses usually helps a great deal understanding the technical terms that often have to be used just to explain how to get something done correctly.

Time is a key factor. Being at CF always can provide an avenue as well as by reviewing the information seen in replies for different problems. That's called sharing accumilated knowledge. It can be a real help when you get stuck on something. :D

Yea they said experince is pretty much the key too.. This school helps with job placement and interview tips and resumes and all that kind of stuff. They said i should beable to start looking for a job somewhere after i get my first certificate, so i can gain experince.. It looks like it will be good. Im really excited...:D.. finally get to do something i like...:D

Getting familiar with the various types of hardwares and actual physical hands on work with several systems whether prebuilt or custom becomes a great asset in addition to the formal career training. Software problems are often considered the worst to solve by many professionsls( not again!). You may want to keep that in mind as you go along. :P
