What drivers should I be looking to download to get sound/mobo to work well? Currently, onboard sound is not recognized, and when i install the audo codecs reccommended in add/remove hardware, i get sound but TONS of BSODs.

Motherboard ID 06/09/2003-nVidia-nForce-6A61BPAAC-00

Motherboard Name Epox EP-8RDA+ / FIC AU11 Chameleon

Thankks

PS: on http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

I dont know which driver to download!

Thanks guys, Ill try the suggestions!

Weird related problem... When i go into add hardware, there are two things that havent been installed yet. nVidia Audio Codecs and nVidia Multimedia Controller. I go to install both of those and restart. The sound works!

But then i start to notice a drastic increase in BSODs.. like every time the device is used, and often just at startup.

Why is it doing this??

BTw: download link is dead!

AGHH!!! I went to go uninstall all nVidia stuff in the add/remove programs just because it was all freezing and everything.

Then, I booted back up the PC and noticed I had deleted my nVidia gFX card drivers (MX4000 rosewill... worked fine before). So i put in the driver cd that came with the card, it installed fine, and then asked for me to restart the computer.

I did that and it still did not recognize the driver like it used to! Everything is slow now, moving windows is all laggy and weird, scrolling down is bad too...

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling so many times! The program is even listed in add/remove programs, so why isnt windows recognizing the driver??

Thanks!

Alright, I know that problem (I had it myself when I first installed XP), now to see if I can remember how to rectify it...Try downloading the most recent drivers from the Nvidia website. I had been installing and reinstalling the 71.84 drivers from my hard drive, and downloading the most recent drivers fixed it.

EDIT: About the broken link; I've been trying to find a good one and I've been havin' a rough time (dial-up, and I'm downloading a fairly large file at the moment), but when I find one I'll edit it into the old post.

just go to driverguide.com and download the tool to detect the devices you have which driver you need. if password is asked put it User name : - "temp" and pass :- "512" - - :D hitesh

Thanks! I installed it but It tells me all drivers are updated (update drivers is the only option...)

PS: I got the video to work, so now i just need sound to work without constantly BSOding me :P
