Hey guys,

I have been researching everything I can for my near future build that im saving up for right now. I have just about everything decided on and picked out but totaly forgot to research the drives!!
I dont feel like shootin myself in the foot by getting the wrong drives, so I need your help :)

I'm completly un-aware of what ones to get (I know, how noobish huh?:()

anyway, Im going to be using my computer for gamming mostly, but i'll be burning DVD's from my video camera onto DVD+R disks, I may burn a few CD's here and there, but mostly just gamming and the DVD's

Thanks in advanced for the help, it will be greatly appriciated :)

With that mobo you can go with a sata or IDE! But, I believe sata is faster than IDE. You looking for blueray, dual layer, or lightscribe?

i'll prolly go for dual layer (that means you have 2 different drives right?) so that I can burn CD's, and for long term, if one dies, i have another for back-up. Every now and then, one of my drives that I have wont play my CD's, DVD's or games, so I put the disk in the 2nd drive and it works fine... Put the disk back into the first drive a day or 2 later, and it works again..haha

Dual layer means you can burn dual layer dvd's (dvd-9) which is 8.5gb instead of the regular 4.7gb disks. Dual layer dvd's are way too expensive though and your better off using a bunch of 4.7gb disks.
