What else would you suggest

So I've been contemplating building my own laptop, or at least having it built to my specifications because I'm never really satisfied with the ones I find in stores :/

ANYWAYS here's what I KNOW I want:
CPU: Intel Core i7 720QM
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 480M
RAM: 4GB

I have no clue about motherboards/power supply/etc. or even a good site where they'll do the building for me(other than newegg.com)

I'd greatly appreciate it if ya'll could give me this info as well as the general price for the items you suggest :)
 
"Building" a laptop is extremely difficult, as there is no standard for motherboards, nearly all are brand, make, and model specific. If you want to configure a laptop (i.e. choose core components) then there are sites for that, (cyberpower, etc.) but Daisy's link looks good to me. Where are you, and what is your budget? Is portability/size an issue, because you could build/buy a far superior desktop for the same price, or build a similar performing desktop for much less.
 
I honestly don't think GTX 480m worth the extra money over $1500 Asus G73JH with core i7, 8GB RAM and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870
