what ever happened to AMD

They're busying themselves with Fusion, Phenom and Barcelona, here's hoping they're decent, particularly the former.

I am glad that Intel has the advantage over them, they have some fast stuff at good prices right now. And trying to pull the high performance with the 6400+ which is overpriced

I bet AMD will go ahead when their new stuff comes out. It's constant warfare between compainies, ATI and Nvidia, AMD and Intel, Microsoft and Apple.... pretty soon all the Intel fanboys will be AMD fanboys, then back to Intel.... the vicious cycle continues.

No I am pretty stable with Intel.... There won't be an AMDCRAZY

Ya but 99% of the others who say they will never use anything but Intel were saying the same about AMD just two years ago. It's sad.

Yup - I believe I was robably one of the "others". But really, when you buy a computer, you build it to the best spec you can get for your money. And at the time, Intel had the faster processors...

Intel and AMD leap frog each other all the time. Intel beat the AMD Athlon with the pent 4 then AMD slayed the Pent 4 with the Opteron and 64-FX Intel will prob keep making improved Core 2s AMD will eventually bring out something ground breaking like they always do.

The Quad cores should faster from AMD their next processor is 4 cores joined together and optimised. Intels quad core is two dual cores joined together with string.

I like to be different too I dont have dual core I have dual socket motherboard with a 2Ghz Opteron in each socket and a bank of 1GB ram for each each Processor so they can access their own bank of ram instead of them taking turns, like they do on a dual processor.
