So i just recently overclocked my computer and i was told to downlaod orthos to figure out if it was stable or not,of cource i had cpuz and hdmonitor for the temps and speed varifaction as well.
I was just wandering what exacly does it do?

And if you don't mind asking this question, after about 15 minutes of running orthos my 5200+ went to 64c, it stayed at 62c for like 5 minutes, then 63 and minute later then, 64.IS this considered stable?Becuase it was putting it at 100 use, and even playing games, is my cpu stressed that much?

I heard that the max is 68c(amd rating)on these, but i would not like to go passed 65c on full load.So am i stuck at 2.9?(no voltage changes were made)

I'm not exactly sure, but I believe Orthos just test the limits of your CPU and overclock, I think the spike in temp is normal, since mine was bouncing around at times, so. I'm not sure if your temps are normal, what kind of cooler are you using?

I'm pretty sure it runs a bunch of complex mathematical calculations simultaneously, forcing you CPU to work extremely hard.

Yeah, get an aftermarket cooler. Then you can up the voltage and increase your clocks. At the temps you're describing, you don't want to go any further with a stock fan.

thanks, i figured that it threw a bunch of stuff at my cpu, but i didn't really know.
I am thinking of getting an after market cooler within a month or so, do any of you recommend a good cooler, thermal paste?
Would i see a noticiable diffrence in temp, if i kept it at the same speed i have now?
[email protected] vs. [email protected] ?

Thermal paste: MX-2

HSF: Zalman 9700

My only complaint with the Zalman is the noise. It comes with a speed controller, so, if you keep it on low, it's not that loud.

You'll notice a significant difference.
