I would recommend the WD drive, as i have it and it works fine. when it starts up, it is a bit loud, but when you are actuallly usuing it then it is silent, and prety good, had no problems with it.
But i could recommend buying an internal hard drive and a Caddy for it. Samsung are good, my friend has two and he says they are the best he had. Look on ebuyer.com for Samsung 1TB, but maybe look also on http://overclockers.co.uk/ also they could do some good deals

Thanks for the reply. Are you talking about the WD My Book Essential Edition? Actually I am thinking about buying that (1TB).

Yes, i have a TB as well, it is good, and well some people have been experiencing problems, but i had none so far, been filling it up a lot, and works fine.

I was so confused when I found some negative comments about each famous external-drives like WD, Buffalo, Toshiba in Amazon UK. And WD Essential got the least negative comments. WD must be the best after all.

Comments alone are tough to go on, as people really only post long term reviews(to an extent) if something goes wrong.

Also Amazon.co.uk although say they deliver hard drives in well packed condition, i heard some people say that the packaging was thin, so that why the hard drive might not have worked properly for them. But look at other websites, ebuyer, overclockers, there are many others, and sometimes it could be even cheaper on these websites depending on stock

I ordered CompTIA Books from Amazon sellers, they were packaged properly and arrived in good condition. But "Door Gym Master Exercise Bar" that I ordered from Amazon was so poorly packaged and the item doesn't look genuine. That's why I am scared to buy electronic items from Amazon UK. I checked ebuyer.com, I think it has to be best retailer of computer components.
