What graphics card will I need?

I want to be able to play battlefield 3 on ultra settings while recording with FRAPS, and get a constant 60+ FPS, I was looking at dual AMD Radeon HD7970, will this do or is it a bit of an overkill?
 
what resolution are you playing and recording at? It would be okay I think with one 680/7970 at 1080p. a 570 or so will be fine at lower resolutions.
 
A 680 would be plenty. A 670 should do it. If you want 2 it will run faster and better that way and you should be able to force it to 32x AA to look yet even better.
A 7970 should be great too.
 
Just check the benches on anandtech, it will have bf3 benches and you can see the performance of all the options.
 
the 7970 is faster. And it would be better to get a 680 SLI than a 690. Personally I would go with the 680SLI/690 but I am a Nvidia fan. And as said BF seems to like Nvidia better than AMD.
 
ok thanks Im going for the 680, last thing... What is better?

16GB RAM 2133 MHz
or
32GB RAM 1333 MHz
 
8GB of 2133. You are gaming and don't need 16Gb. Use that money and invest in a SSD to write the video to. A 32GB or 64GB should be plenty.
