I originaly wanted to go for the MSI Nvidia GeForce 7800GT but there sold out and i wanted to know everybodys opinion

Thanks :)

7800GT is a fine card, and I hear the 1800 is too(apparently better too)

I've heard bad stuff about ATI's recent cards, though, so I'd do some reasearch on them first as I don't know too much about the newer ones myself...

Thanks for the replys.

So you would rather get a x1800xt than a nvidia geforce 7800gt?

can anybody else confirm that the extra £40 is worth it?

It´s just that you´ll get 20 pipelines with 7800GT but with X1800XT you´ll get a little bit more porformance..

If you are going to get 7800GT this would be the only card you should get =) http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=105498

This one has faster memory than other 7800GT´s and it has 512Mb memory.. gaiward makes it better ;)
"This "Goes Like Hell" edition features not only 512MB of memory but memory that also runs at a super-fast 1300MHz making this the Fastest 7800GT on the market. "
Specs:
Core clock 450MHz+
20 Pixel Pipelines
512MB 1300MHz+ GDDR3 Ultra Fast 1.4ns Memory
256-Bit Memory interface
7 Vertex Shaders
Memory Bandwidth - 41.6GB/sec
Fill Rate - 9.80 billion pixels/sec
This is way faster than any other 7800gt on the market

here´s plain 7800GT: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=105400

But this is almoust as cheap as that kind of expensive and fancy Gainward 7800GT and this x1800xt would bring you more performance, actually even more performance tahn 7800GTX in some cases: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=100523
