What happens when you combinde different size memor?

Only have 2GB (2 X 1GB sticks) nad planning on expanding. Saw on Newegg the exact same memory but the size was 4GB (2 X 2GB sticks).

My question basically is if something negative will happen if I buy this and add memory to my build, even when the specs are the same.

Appreciate any help.

The memory is OCZ DDR3 PC10666 1333mhz

you can use them. one thing though it may be a waste of time unless your running a 64 bit operating system. if its 32 bit. keep it at 3 gig ram.

Nah, I'm running 64bit Windows 7, so i should be cool. The 2GB I bought was a quick local buy, just to test my system, didn't want to wait until it got delivered.

i just did an installation with windows 7 Pro. 64 bit. Starting to and do like it now. Another learning curve though. like it . cheers..........
