What happens when you remove the CPU fan from a dekstop computer?

i have a cpu which i use sometimes. I want to remove its fan. Not
the processor's fan but the one which cools the whole cpu which is
normally located at the top of the back of a cpu. So anyway what
happens if i cut the cpu fan's wires and take the fan? Can i still use
the computer? I can't buy a cpu fan. So i want to take it from MY
computer.

A few things.

First, a CPU is the same thing as the processor. Are you talking about removing the CPU (processor) fan from on top of the processor? Or are you talking about removing a fan from the case? If you remove a case fan, it will run but unless you have other case fans it will most likely overheat and shutdown after some use.

You also don't need to cut the cable, it's just a connector that can be removed.
 
Yes, a bit of clarification on what you're calling the "CPU". Some people refer to the case as the CPU, even though the actual part itself is separate and requires it's own cooling setup.

All case fans do is promote airflow in the case to help keep the interior temp cool. The HSF will push that cooler inside air (or pull it away depending on style of HS) over the metal fins to aid in the metal keeping cool and thus being able to pull more heat away from the CPU. Several pre-built companies often don't use fans on their HS, instead option for larger blocks of metal to absorb more heat. If you have an aftermarket HS with a bigger block, you may be able to not have a fan on it to aid in the cooling (I would highly recommend you have good case airflow though); it all depends on what CPU you have and it's clock speed - low enough with good airflow and a large HS should give you no issues.

If you're talking about running a CPU with no cooling (ie - no HS)...it will either fry itself within a few seconds (older models), or more-likely shut itself down to prevent frying within a few seconds (almost all newer models).
