To be honest, pretty much any case that has a dual 120 fan mounts on top can fit your build. Do you have a budget in mind?

i mean i want the to run the highest settings for games to come, but i do want to save as much as possible.

is my power supply necessary? can i get a cheaper one?

is the processor liquid cooling necessary if i do not over clock?

I'm getting my 1 TB regular hard drive, sound card, probably after i build it and just add it on later, just for the fact that i don't have enough (spending almost all my money) money.

I'm on computer crack, I'm spending all my money on it, which i shouldn't, so i don't know, whatever not necessary, but i do want a good year or two running on high settings.

but over 300 on a case is too much, i just got to my senses right now

Liquid cooling is definitely not needed if you're not overclocking. The stock would be fine, but I'd spend the $30 and get a coolermaster 212+

For the PSU, you could go 850w and still have room for a second card, if you ever want to do that.

For the case, I would get a $100-200 case, something from corsair, coolermaster, Lian Li, NZXT.

To the OP, TBH you can run games at high settings at stock speeds but if you overclock there is great explosion in performance. I would say instead of getting the Cosmos 2, get an 800D or a 650D, would work great with the H100.

I'm looking at this cooler master case, since it has LED lights and a transparent side panel (which i always wanted)

later, when i can afford to upgrade my computer with the h100 liquid cooling, would this be able to fit in here?

and are all power supplies a universal size?

and if i do get 850w power supply, would it have the potential to support 2 GTX 680 video cards, my asus sound card, and a 512 SSD and 1 TB hard drive? (of course including my blu ray drive, processor, the liquid cooling(which i will probably get later) and motherboard?)

You can fit the H100 in that case. But since you mentioned that you are net overclocking it is way overkill. If you want to stay with the H series the H60 has a good balance. You could also use the CM Hyper 212+. It is a lot cheaper with good performance with the Sandy/Ivy Chips.

Here is another Option for a case. It is not as flashy, but it is a solid case to build in.

ohh wow i like that case, looks very nice,

and for the power supply, is 850w enough for all my needs? and are all power supplies universal in size? i do want a LED light in there so ill prob get a power supply with an LED light.

i do plan to overclock, when i can afford the h100, i just want my gaming rig already and play.

and to make sure would everything i want fit in there?

that case is nice, very simple and clean, and most of all it has the front panel usb 3.0 ports.

I looked up the review for a 680 SLI. Guru 3D said that it would run on a 750W min and 850+ is recommended. power supplies come in a lot of different standards but for the majority of gaming rigs you are going to need an ATX PSU.

Here are two recommendations for a power supply:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703022

Both are a bit over what is recommended. Gives you some extra headroom when you add a second 680. You can also use a quality 850W and you will be fine.

If you want LEDs in the case there are a few add ins that work really well. I use the NZXT LED Ropes in my 800D Nice clean lighting.

Edit: about half way down I have a pic of mine with the LED strip installed. Pic doesn't really do it justice.

ok, im impatient I'm on a business trip, and i want to build my computer when i get home so i can hurry up n play D3, BF3, and SC2, and the upcoming ghost recon and total war.

this is what I'm getting so far now, and i just want to get the ok before i finalize my order right now.

Case: 650D

Processor: i7-3770

Power Supply: 910W Crossfire

(the one you suggested)

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212 Plus

(i think this is the one you suggested)

Ram: Same

SSD: Same

Video Card: GTX 670?

and here are my questions,

is the cpu fan easy to install? i saw the pictures on newegg, doesnt seem as easy to install as the h100,

is 8 GIGs of rip jaws X enough?

and is the video card model i selected ok? would it still run the games i've said in high settings? and for future games to come?

and i plan to upgrade and add the Asus Xonar 7.1 sound card, a regular 1 TB hard drive, and another 8 GIGs or rip jaws x (if u say i don't need it right now)

damn im so excited lol

Use this one instead

It does a bit better with the sandy/ivy chips than the standard 212+

As far as the instillation goes. Both are fairly strait forward. I have installed both coolers in different system that I have built for others. 212 is a bit more cumbersome because it is a tower cooler but ultimately not all that hard.

Yep. I'm assuming that you are getting 1600MHz CAS 8/9?

From what I looked up a 670 would be a better choice. EVGA is a really good manufacturer. Go with that.

Now that you are looking at a 670 and SLI later I would switch the PSU to this:

Hold off on the RAM. The sounds card is completely up to you. I am still using on board and I like it for now. The thing to remember with sound cards is that you need a good set of speakers for the Sound card to really hear a difference.

I'm sorry what is an SLI?

and i didnt really understand:

"Yep. I'm assuming that you are getting 1600MHz CAS 8/9?"

the speed of my ram is i think DDR3 2133?

I'm getting this model of ripJaws, as someone else on this board said it went well with my motherboard

sorry I'm a noob, this is my first gaming rig, and I'm learning a lot though

Sorry if I went through that kinds fast. SLI is when you have a nVidia GPUs linked together. So if you have 2 670s in a rig you are running them in an SLI configuration. When you do the same with an AMD card it is called Crossfire.

2 or more nVidia GPUs linked = SLI
2 or more AMD GPUs linked = Crossfire

1600 CAS 8 is what is normally recommended for a gaming rig here. The RAM that you have is great and as long as it is compatible with your motherboard it is a great choice.

Just FYI here is how you read RAM speeds.

the number after DDR3 is the effective speed of your RAM. So in your case it is 2133MHz

CAS deals with the timing of your RAM. Lower CAS Latency = quicker retrieval of data.

can you link your motherboard so I can see what speeds it can handle?

and thanks so much for the info, i am a learning iOS developer to help my dads software company,

but i always loved hardware. the machinery its just dope.

it looks like it will work. You will have to set the speed and timings manually either by enabling XMP or by typing in the values. You have to do that with any RAM clocked over 1333MHz. It's not too hard.

hmm would the rip jaws X DDR3 1600 be a safer choice? and it would mean iw ouldnt have to set the speed and timings correct?

You will have to set it manually or have XMP enabled on any RAM that is over 1333. For the price I would probably keep the ones that you have. You will have to set them the same as you would for 1600 and they are rated for more if your motherboard has settings for it. I think it will as it can go up to 2400.

I'd go with a Coolermaster HAF-X instead. Plenty big and feature rich, but you will save at least a hundred dollars. Not to mention it fits all motherboard sizes and accomodates other hardware too. If you don't need the front panel usb 3.0 though, i'd go with a HAF932 and save another 70 bucks on top of that. :)
