what is a good tv tuner?

I am thinking about buying a tv tuner for my lap top so I can watch tv and record shows onto the hard drive. Dell wanted $130 for there external tv tuner. I don't want to have to pay that much at all. What is a good brand, what all does it need to do. Never used a tv tuner before. Send me a link if you can.

Internal's the way to go. I'd go with a WinTV PVR series. I have the 150 MCE and it's really nice.

This is why the usb option is advised here due to limits of expansion on a portable unit. On a desktop you got room to run PCI as well as usb addons. Woopsie. I'm sorry I still thing there's a USB vesion of the PVR, but I'd head more towards the PCMCIA interface. Though I don't beleive WinTV has any using that format.
