what is a hardcore gamer?

If your a hardcore gamer, does it mean you play games all day long, or does it mean u play games that put alot of stress ur computer? i play games all day long like WoW or CS:S, so does that mean im a hardcore gamer or am i just a moderate gamer? i know its sorta a stupid question, but i really dont know. =P

Well, if you have a nice PC and/or are picky about components, that is phase one. If you like games that look nice and demand that is phase two. You sound like you meet the criteria, "you're hired", lol.
 
It means you're a jobless gamer.. Seriously being hardcore or talented with videogames is like kissing your sister; it doesn't count. :D

Lol, anyways, yeah playing games all day might mean you're hardcore.. It might also mean you mean you haven't seen the sun in a couple years but...

Also I hear the medical organization is going to make playing games too much a actual medical condition, Reason to medicate, or counsel, you in other words. Damn it, just a couple of years ago and they would've caught me..

If you play CSS, and see an enemy on the side of you, and you literally turn your head... Lol.

If you have a gaming PC, play gaming games, go to LANs.


Stuff like that.
 
lol. I think i'm in between moderate and hardcore. Its not like i'm living under a rock or something. lol. I do go out occasionally, but when i don't, its games for me. =]

No, the best is when you're camping with somebody else and you wonder why both of you are whispering to each other......
 
A hardcore gamer has a high end system just for playing games,
plays from the time they get home from work till 2 0r 3 am and gets up at
6am to go back to work. takes days off when expansions come out .
and when they are out in the public looks around at strangers and thinks about what charater race and class they look like :D

Hardcore gamers are people who could have a life or not and they love video games usually on every console, play lots of the game and know everything there is to know about the games and most of them can find all kinds of flaws in the games that normal players won't ever see.

They're really good at the games to.

There also the type of people who will pre-order all kinds of games for how badly they want it.
 
Yeah I'd say a hardcore gamer must be proficient in games on every level console up to PC. You need to play the more popular games and be great at them, Nobody is going to care if your pro at Delta Force, CS:S, perhaps. Your PC must be in tip top shape with the bleeding edge of technology already in it, because if you slow down...your dead. Honestly, WoW isnt really a hardcore gamers game...All you have to do is know your class reasonably, read, have a good guild and spend time at it. FPS/RTS are different. You never see an MMO at a gaming tournament.

I kinda disagree with that, I think a hardcore gamers is someone who spends
all free time playing or thinking about games no matter if its FPS or MMORPG
 
hardcore gamer for me would be someone who buy's the newest of the newest everytime his/her pc isnt able to handle games anymore maxed out. someone who just plays a lot it imo just a player ^^
 
i play alot, but dont have near enough cash yo upgrade one more part on this thing, what does that make me?
 
a player :P if you were a hardcore gamer, you'd get a job to earn more money for a pc ^^ (according to my definition)

I do not think it is the time put in so much as the intensity and level of interest. Sometimes a persons schedule is so busy it does not permit them to play as frequently as they would like. I think a hardcore gamer is someone who follows and plays video games on many levels and is interested in the technology and 'culture' as much as the game. Someone who stays locked up for hours and hours not doing anything else and obsessing, just has a problem..
