What a modular PSU and what is the difference between a modular one and a non-modular one? because im looking at getting the Rosewill Xtreme Series RX850-S-B 850W (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182072) for my new computer but apparently it's not modular. Thanks!!

A modular PSU has cables that can be detached if you do not use them. So it cleans up the case nicely.
But I would not recommend that PSU, and not for the nonmodular part. For the poor quality, part. What is this going to be powering?

of course they arent 20% off, but when the other can destroy your 1000 or more dollar computer i think 30 bucks for a safer psu is a good investment.

For ps I wouldn't settle for what's not bad. Budget or no budget. If your not in a hurry you'll be able to find something like that ^ Seasonic with plenty of amps for around that same $85. Maybe tomorrow! Modular can be nice to have, sometimes. Not always as nice as it seems. Depends. What case do you have? Is your current ps modular?
