Does MagSafe have anything to do with wireless charging? It seems to me that they're completely different features. I think the wireless charger is the same inductive charger that everyone else has, and Apple just added a magnet around it to keep the charger centered (and for other accessories).

The magsafe charger gives a few more watts over other qi charging methods.
Personally the magnetic ring is pretty useful for accessories like a pop socket.
