I am build a computer mostly for 3-d design work Pro-e/autocad and I am looking to spend less than $500 These are the parts that I am tenatively planning on. What video card should I get????

I am new to most of this and this will be my first build. The computer will be used mainly to run cad programs (pro-e) so it needs a video card mean enough to scare little children. The bottom line is I wanna go fast and im looking to spend about $2000. This is some of the stuff ive picked out so far, remember Im new so tell me where Im throwing money away, where I should maybe spend a little more, tell me if there is a piece that is just plain silly.

thanks Joe

id say go with a 7950 of your choice, your going to need that power with the kind of work u want to do...and if eventually you have the cash, sli and have quad gpus :P

Aren't there Quadro and FireGL cards which are designed/Oriented towards CAD/Workstation applications?

Correct, it would be a huge waste of money to get a gaming graphics card, as the workstation graphics cards are designed for that work, and nothing else!

Lol big misconception, my sister is a 3d and 2d animator, she told me that her 6800gt works better on the programs that her old quadro, and if im not mistaken it was the same core...to be honest the technology is very similar and the gpu works the same...plus is there a quadro equivalent to the 7950?

Yea, a 7950 would be a waste of money. Get the Quadro that has dual cores on board with 4gb onboard memory. Its only about $4,000. lol. But the Quadro series is the best for that.

hint: "old quadro". If you compared the 6800gt to the latest Quadro of 2004, then the quadro would win. In this case.
