I'm technical, but my knowledge does not include monitors at all...
Can someone explain to me a little bit more about what one is, what the purpose is, etc... I've tried googling it multiple ways, but I only seem to get links to buy them, so that's not much help.
Basically, the reason why I ask is that I have a spare monitor (lcd flat screen) from a Gateway Profile 5, and the connections specs say "LCD inverter board and OSD powerboard and Video / Power Data Cable".
I'd like to find more about it, see if I can mod some kind of big digital pic frame or hook it up to pc as extra monitor / or extra tv screen.
Can anyone fill me in on LCD inverters? I'm probably trying to bite off more than I can chew (for having no knowledge of monitors and trying to mod it), but I pick up on things really quickly...
