What is ram

I'm shopping for RAM for a new computer and cant figure out what to get..

I know I should have 4GB.

And I know the ddr-800 pc2-6400 is good for a new build (no idea what that means but its ok)

Just not sure how to shop for the best deal. Why is there such a price difference in them?

Does it matter if you get 4 x 1GB or 2 x 2GB?

the mobo i'm getting is GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P I need to know if this ram will fit? recommendations are welcome =]

Ram

If you look at your motherboard specs on newegg it will tell you what type of ram it requires. Looks like your motherboard takes DDR2 1333. I don't know if that means it's the ONLY ram you can use though. Anyway hope this helps a little.

The 2nd (G.Skill) is probably best.

You can use any DDR2 RAM that doesn't exceed 1333. Both of what you picked will work.

Correct, the RAM I linked to is a good deal better though, so you'd be better off with it.




Or are you looking to upgrade your current 2GB RAM with another 2GB?

OK, then get the G.Skill RAM I linked to.

Also, are you going 64-Bit?

You want a good deal on RAM go to www.crucial.com there you can find all types of RAM at variable sizes and its all pretty cheap.
