(in speed fan)

Temp 1 = 34c CPU
Temp 2 = 35c GPU
Temp 3 = 78c ???
Temp 4 = 28c MB

I was guessing it was my hd but i cant be. Could be core temp?

Do you have a single core or dual core processor? And download coretemp, it's a better temperature monitoring program.

temp 1, 2, 3 etc are parts on your mobo.

graphics card or gpu is graphics card (obv)

core 1 and core 2 etc are your processor.

Check your north and south bridges and see how hot they are. If they are hot then you may need better air flow or a better heatsink on em

Rule of thumb, don't trust Speedfan :P I've noticed it doesn't support most any new motherboard. My suggestion would be to check the temps in your bios (pehaps reboot the computer once it's been running for a while so you have more consistent idle temps) then use something like PC Wizard. They also have HWMonitor but I've yet to really try it out...

If the temps are still very high...well then you have a problem that should be addressed :P

wait a minute, if it is 78 degrees C then i would say it isn't the processor, that would shut down way before that.

The only thing that will get that hot is the graphics card, but that isn't the graphics card

I would say as The_other_one said, don't trust speedfan :P

Speedfan from my expierence is pants. Everest/CoreTemp or anything else anyone reccomends :) Everest tells u so much about ur system also..

I thought the CPU ( intel atleast ) maxed out a 85 °C?? Could be wrong but im pretty sure the maximum limit 185 °F/85 °C

system temperature maybe? not sure were that sensor is but its the hottest of my temps on speedfan even though mines 47 deg
