What is the best way to store photos

Hello, everyone!
I need your advice. I have accumulated a lot of photos and videos over the past ten years. I know that it's not a good idea to store photos on a computer, but now everything is stored on a computer. So now I'm looking for other options, could you please tell me how you store? What are the options besides cloud storage?

By the way, USB/external is a good idea, I'll probably use it.

If you want a true backup, yes. Backup in triplicate. Local, cloud, safe deposit box.

I'm currently putting my photo's on a Seagate 1tb portable hard disc drive, I'll still burn to a blank DVD, but I'll also use the Seagate too.

I'd take 'storing on a computer' over physical photos any day.

But as per others, duplicate the data in multiple places as a redundancy strategy. Computer crashes? Good thing you backed up to another medium and/or cloud storage. I wouldn't trust a single mechanism, even the 'cloud'.
