Ok, I need to upgrade a system that is still running the old AMD 939 socket, not the AM2 version. What is the fastest upgrade for it.
Is it the
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Toledo 2.2GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819103053
or the
AMD Opteron 185 Denmark 2.6GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core Processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103002
And what is the difference in performance. Since the 4200+ is only $69 and the Opteron is $235. This is just to make a system last for another year or so.
Thanks!
