What is the internet security software and browser?

I'm looking for a browser and possibly security software with good virus and spyware blocking. I heard good things about Firefox and Mozilla Firefox (are they different?) but what is the best type of security? How much would it cost?

For a good browser get firfox, mozilla is the company, so yes they are the same thing. In terms of security, you can download zonealarm for free (personal firewall), i think norton antivirus makes a program with virus and spyware tool. Your best off using multiple spyware tools though, like adaware se, ms anti spybot, etc.

That's cool! I'll get Firefox then. This is just a random question that you might not know the answer to: How come Firefox is so much better than IE? More people use IE.

Speaking of pop ups, on our desktop computer, until I found a way round it, IE kept on bringing up a blue banner with some sort of casino gambling spyware on it every time you opened it from the start menu. I have come up with a temporary solution for this problem by disabling all the programs listed in the start up menu, and it seems to work fine. The interesting thing is, the banner was never in Firefox even with the msconfig settings enabled. Anyone got any idea how to remove something from the msconfig start up list?

Not true, Firefox, last I heard had gained more than 60% of the internet users in the country, it's catching on quickly. Trust me, even though it's open source software the developers patch their problems quicker than the MS giant does. You'll see, Firefox can be more user friendly. For an anti virus, use AVG, it's free and works as good as Norton or Symantec
