What game requires like 1GB video memory MINIMUM TO RUN A GAME AND 2 GIG ram MIN to run a game. im just wondering about those crazy gamerz out there.:D :D :D

Almost all of us are gamers, DUDE!! 1Gb of video memory is not often seen, except for video rendering or editing, 2Gb of RAM is the norm of gaming now. Don't bring anything stereotypical into this, especially about being a gamer. Learn some stuff about hardware before you try to set up anymore threads.

None.....really, they are at a normality point right now. Crysis is supposed to have some big requirements but I think otherwise

try putting terragen scenes into x-plane, especially if its the whole earth or a couple of planets. That usually make your computer just shut off. And you can see why from these pictures

render times for terragen are usually over 100 hours on a good computer and exporting them as .obj files is a bitch but in the end you get a game that makes your computer crash.

Even though STALKER needs a high system requirement, it runs on 1024x768 on medium-high setting on my geforce 6600

FEAR and oblivion are much more demanding than STALKER

I've tried alot of games fear wasn't really pulling me down nor was tomb raider legends but the most lag I would say is oblivion on ultra high settings and high resolution but on lower resolution it is silky smooth

I'd have to say that no game out currently requires 1 GB of video memory...even to run at highest settings.
Doom 3 and Quake 4 uses extremely big textures at ultra high quality but even that doesn't need 1GB of video mem to run smoothly

FSX is a BEAST (RAWR RAWR). Also what about Supreme Commander or Medival Total War, aren't those games hard to run at full settings and resolution?

fear got to be this even with two gig I still find this game lag some time into the game. another one probably goes for obilivion it lag me as well when I hit some place with massive animation.

FEAR wasn't all that demanding, I could have it on high settings with my old computer: XP 2400+ (socket A), 1GB PC2700 RAM and an X850 Pro AGP, and it didn't lag.

I haven't put FEAR back on my computer yet, and Oblivion didn't lag much on my old computer either. I'll put that one on my new one now :)

Like I said earlier, by default Oblivion is not a demanding game, but, after you mess with some of the settings, you can make it where you can see every tree, every discarded item, every pillaged corpse for miles around......

In reality if you take any modern game and throw it on a screen that has a resolution of 3000 x 2000 (or so) and maxx the settings.
That game WILL be pushing it on most computers.

And also minium and recomended requirments for games are junk and are hardly acurate.
